Devonshire cemetery and the Front Line

This small British cemetery is located in the very place where the trench was. At 7.30am on July 1st 1916, the Devonshire Regiment attacked the German defensive positions. While moving onto exposed ground they were suddenly mown down by German machine gun situated at the edge of the next village. A very emotional site.
